On September 29th, 2023 our family said goodbye to Derrick Curtis, a devoted, loving husband, father, and friend to all. Derrick touched the lives of so many through his love of dance and community organizing and inspired folks to live fully, spread love widely, and strive for to their goals. Despite numerous health issues over the last few years, Derrick overcame obstacle after obstacle and did so gracefully and with a smile on his face. The world has lost a truly incredible and amazing spirit and we are all deeply saddened, but grateful for the life he lived and shared with us all.

At this time, his family is preparing to host a Celebration of Life in Santa Barbara, CA and is graciously accepting donations for this service as well as donations to help support a dance scholarship fund in his name.
