Yesterday, our world was shattered.

My best friend, Brayden lost her husband Derrick completely unexpectedly at just 27 years old. They were newly married, deeply in love, and had been best friends for over 8 years. In one moment, her future the life they were building together was taken from her. If anyone knew Derrick, he was the light of the room everywhere he went. Deeply cherished by many friends and family, especially his wife.

There are no words that can truly capture the heartbreak of losing your partner, your best friend, and your safe place all at once. At just 25 years old, Brayden is now facing the unimaginable navigating grief, shock, and heartbreak while also facing the practical realities that no one should ever have to deal with at this age.

We are creating this fundraiser to help lift even a small part of the heavy burden she is now carrying.

Funds raised will go toward:

• Funeral and memorial expenses

• Immediate living costs (rent, utilities, groceries)

• Any unexpected expenses that arise during this incredibly difficult time
