My name is Lindsay Schneider and Derrick's wife, Jody, is my friend & co-worker. They have two children, Boden (15) & Taylor (21). Derrick owns his own construction company and in early January, he was working on a job and fell 3 stories. Derrick sustained multiple injuries from this fall. He was transferred to a hospital that specializes in spinal cord injuries after and most recently discharged and admitted to a rehab hospital in Chicago to begin his journey back to mobility. Derrick has an incomplete spinal cord injury grade 3 or grade C. He has a long road ahead of him but is making fantastic progress and is slowly learning to walk again. They are projecting for him to be able to come home in March. As you can imagine, they will have many medical expenses. I am hoping we can try and ease this burden for them so they can focus on his recovery!
