Dero Bowman Brain tumor fund
Donation protected
I may not be able to do justice explaining all that my friend Dero has been through, but I will try. I've know him since grade 5, he has been my best friend for 38 years. He's had lots of of ups and downs as we all have, but recently he has had some big struggles.
Dero was diaganosed with a brain tumor several years ago. It was found to be benign, but it began growing and putting pressure on his frontal left temporal lobe. Its a bad place to have a tumor (is there any good place??) as that part of the brain controls some pretty important stuff: Memory, Language and Speaking to name a few. In 2015 he had surgery to have it removed, but they couldnt get it all and it grew again.
Last month Dero took another brave step and had another brain surgery, but even though the doctors were really good, the tumor had grown into parts they couldn't touch.
Dero will be starting radiation therapy. 30 sessions , 5 sessions every week, over 6 weeks. Starts on Monday Oct 23 and ends Dec 5th.
In Japan the cost of treatment is born by the patient and his employer benefits don't cover him.
He has gone into great debt trying survive this and he is unable to keep working while undergoing treatment.
For those of you that know Dero he has a great spirit and has survived so much. I would hate to see the cost of this ruin him.
Lets help him.
Thanks
