Hi my name Is Candace Payne and on Saturday, June 11th 2022, around 3:40 pm my son Derick and daughter-in-law Angela, were driving home on route 122- Forest Rd heading towards West Haven when they were struck head-on by an unregistered, uninsured vehicle.
The driver of the other vehicle nodded off and veered into their lane. The accident was unfortunately unavoidable due to the stone wall that was on the passenger side of my son’s vehicle that they also collided with. The emergency response team had to use the “Jaws of Life” to extract my son and daughter-in-law. They were then rushed to the hospital via ambulance because of to the severity of the injuries they sustained.

By the grace of God they are both alive but have a long road of recovery ahead of them. We are asking for help to replace this young couples car, reduce the burden of loss of wages, assist with medical expenses and any ongoing treatment due to this accident.
We would like to extend a thank you the emergency response team that arrived quickly on site to help everyone involved in the accident, and the Yale emergency room staff who provided care for them.
We also want to express our gratitude to all of you who are taking the time to read, share, and donate to help better their situation.
