Hello! My name is Derek. I’ve been selected to coach in a youth AAA hockey program in Finland/Sweden. The only problem is that it’s unpaid, and I have to pay for flights, hotels, and meals for the month I would be over there.

Creating this GoFundMe is quite the humbling experience because, at the moment, I already live check to check, have a young daughter, and I’ve never been one to ask anyone for anything. So again, this is VERY humbling.

I’m one of the many in this country/world who, while thankful to have a job, cannot stand it. If I can pull off this trip, I’ll be able to use it on a resume and get back into hockey, which, aside from my daughter, is what I love most in this world.

I understand there are much bigger problems in the world, which makes this request seem even less important in the big picture, but any help would be greatly appreciated.
