Derek's Stroke Recovery,
Donation protected
Aloha, Friends, Family and Community,
My name is Bryanne Taft, and I am reaching out on behalf of my Father, Derek Feliciano.
On November 27, 2023, I returned home from work to discover my dad has suffered and continued to show signs and symptoms of a stroke.
He was rushed to the nearest hospital and quickly transferred to another hospital where he was able to get a proper diagnosis.
My dad has been impaired due to this stroke. He is currently experiencing paralysis on his right eye, face and hand. His speech has also been impaired, in recent events he has been diagnosed with Aphasia; the portion of his brain that is responsible for language has affected his ability to communicate, express himself, and even recognize words, and numbers.
Derek has a long challenging road ahead of himself, including intense physical, occupational, and speech therapy.
Prior to my dad’s stroke both my parents had been in a major motor vehicle accident. My mom, Bernadeth Feliciano fractured her pelvis joints, and right leg. Emergency surgery was done to attach her bones with screws and steel plates, my mom is still recovering from the physical and psychological injuries. With the prior accident and my dad still recovering from his stroke, it has now left both my parents unable to drive, and without a car they have been relying on friends and family to help them with appointments and other necessities when my husband and I are unavailable due to conflicts in work schedules etc.…
That’s why I’m reaching out to our community for more support. Every contribution, no matter the size will make meaningful difference in alleviating the financial stress weighing heavily on our family. If you can’t donate, I ask that you please share this page to help spread the word.
Thank you,
