On 12/30/2020 my friend Derek Brown was in a catastrophic tubing accident while on vacation with his family in Coeur d’Alene Idaho resulting in a severe injury at C6-C7 requiring emergency surgery to stabilize his neck. He will be transferred to Englewood Colorado begin an extensive rehabilitation program at Craig Hospital. Here he will learn all the necessary skills to adapt to this new way of life. His wife Erin and his son will be relocating from Long Beach California to Colorado to facilitate in his rehabilitation. This will be a huge financial stressor and I’d like to help lighten that burden.

More about Derek, he has been a 10th grade modern world history teacher for the last 17 years at Bellflower High School. 12 of those years he was also the Varsity Head Football Coach
He has been an athlete his entire live and played football as a quarterback in college as well as in the world league in Europe and also semi pro indoor on several teams in the US. Their son Hudson (7) and loves playing catch with daddy, skateboarding, Pokeman, and riding his motorcycle with his dad. In just 1 week, Hudson lost access to his dad, his home, he lost his puppy, his friends and his school. It is no wonder he is having anxiety. He is so sweet though. He recently said to Erin “Mommy, I don’t want you to worry about me Ok? I’m a big boy and daddy needs you to take care of him so he can be better sooner and we can play catch and have fires in the backyard with him and Bleu (his puppy that he just got for his 7th birthday in September) listening to music.” His wife Erin is an amazing woman who will literally move mountains in order to get her husband the best medical care to help him on his path to recovery. Please help me in blessing this family!!
