Derek Johal (Blanco)’s FFA Swine Project
Donation protected
My name is Derek Johal. I am a 15-year-old Sophomore at Pitman High School in Turlock, California. My second year as a Future Farmers of America (FFA) member began this year.
My first year of high school introduced me to animal husbandry through the raising of a swine. Raising Kali, my Hampshire, presented an invaluable opportunity to learn about this amazing species. Seeing how healthy she had grown and how fast she had matured was eye-opening. Some of my other responsibilities included keeping her stall clean, and respecting the facility in which Kali was sheltered.
FFA membership has given me the privilege of raising livestock and learning disciplines that will help me and others in the future. I enjoyed working with others while taking on the responsibilities that are involved with this project. I look forward to applying the knowledge gained by participating in animal husbandry this 2022-2023 school year.
I hope we can come together on this upcoming project. Your support and donations are greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and consideration.
