You may be a close friend, a colleague or both or you may only know him by name. By now you are aware that Derek just recently received a life saving organ donation. Who you most likely do not know is Debbie Nadlicki.
Debbie is the person who, by her courageous and selfless act of love gave Derek the promise of a longer life: the assurance that his place in life as husband, father of two and the beloved son of his elderly mother and father continues. For us, his friends and colleagues, we’ll continue to have the pleasure of his passion for work and life.
Derek’s life was in peril. His kidneys had failed and could no longer sustain him. His temporary lifeline became the four hours of dialysis on an every other day basis. His over all health was being affected and deteriorating at an increasing pace. A kidney waiting list could be 2 to 3 years....
Debbie Nadlicki is Jenny Bufkin’s BFF. Debbie is the real deal when it comes to declaring a “BEST FRIEND FOREVER”! Debbie and Jenny grew up together and laughed together till they cried. I know this because I had the opportunity to hear so many hilarious accounts about their teenage escapades. Their love for each other is committed and runs deep. So committed is Debbie to her friend Jenny that she gave of her living body to save Derek’s life.
Debbie’s act of grace has touched all our lives, etched as a memorial of purpose and a standing testimony to the power of love. We ask that you join us in demonstrating our sincere and humble gratitude to Debbie for her priceless gift to Derek.
Debbie works for a small company in Houston with just 30 employees. She has taken all her vacation days for the surgery and recovery. The first week as paid vacation and the second week was as unpaid. Help us in our goal is to raise enough money to recover her lost income and to fund a nice vacation week for Debbie and her husband Brent. The goal is to raise $10,000.00 and any greater amount would be fabulous.
