Derek Meler--Christmas Assistance

Our friend, Derek, has fallen ill during this holiday season. Tests so far have been inconclusive. He will probably make a full recovery, but Derek has missed a lot of work over these weeks leading up to Christmas. Personally, I am afraid that he won't be able to go home to visit his family this Christmas, and that breaks my heart, especially since he has no family here in TN.
Before all of this happened, Derek had signed up for individual health insurance, but sadly, the policy doesn't take effect until January 1. He has already been to the hospital twice for IV treatments and tests. Derek hopes to have some of those debts forgiven through the hospital's benevalent assistance programs.
It is rare that I have the opportunity to help someone during the holiday season that I know personally. I am excited for this opportunity to help out a dear friend, and I hope you will be too.
