We all share the loss of Derek Smith, and mourn together with his wife Autumn, son Devin, Derek's family, Autumn's family, and all those who knew and loved Derek as a friend. With the loss of Derek, Autumn begins the difficult task of raising and providing for Devin, and they will need the help and support from all of us. If you are one of the fortunate people to have known and loved Derek, please join and help Derek's family in their great time of need.

Derek was an amazing father, husband, son and friend to many. He relocated a few years ago to North Carolina to pursue his passion for developing great software products that are making a difference in clinical research in some of the world's most difficult diseases such as schizophrenia, Alzheimer's and Multiple Sclerosis. With Derek's passing, Autumn will be relocating back to Arizona, to be among the comfort of family, friends and familiar places. She will incur relocation expenses, memorial expenses, support expenses, childcare and education expenses, and will eventually have the challenge of living without Derek's income.
