Some of you know that our son, Derek, recently traveled out of state for a work opportunity he was truly excited about. Sadly, in his second week there he suddenly became very ill. He was rushed from urgent care to the ER and then admitted to the ICU
with sepsis caused by undiagnosed strep throat. His condition was critical. Sepsis had begun affecting his major organs and vital systems. The first few days were touch and go, filled with emergency interventions to keep him alive. We were only able to reach him on the third day and thankfully, by then he was beginning to stabilize. After nearly a week in the ICU, Derek was finally discharged. He’s home now, but recovery is slow. He’s still unable to work, and delays in getting follow up care and disability support have left him struggling to keep up with bills including potential COBRA payments to keep his health insurance active. We’re doing what we can to help, but Derek could really use your help too. If you’re in a position to help, even a small donation would go a long way. And if you can’t give right now, please consider sharing his GoFundMe or simply keeping him in your thoughts and prayers.
Your love and support mean so much to all of us.
