Derek Lindstrom Cancer Fund

I am raising funds for my 15-year-old nephew, Derek Lindstrom, and his family while he battles Stage 4 HSTCL (hepatosplenic t-cell lymphoma). This is a very rare, extremely aggressive, cancer.

On July 14th, he collapsed in pain. He underwent many tests and scans with those results sent to doctors and clinics nationwide (and because of the rarity). On August 12th, he was diagnosed. His doctor said that without treatment he only has a few months to live and with treatment there is a 30% survival rate.

He started chemotherapy on Friday, August 13th. He has 2 more cycles of chemo scheduled 21 days apart (for a total of 3 cycles). After that, he will be evaluated and a bone marrow transplant will be considered. He will be in the hospital for at least 100 days after the transplant.

There are a lot of unknowns in the road ahead, but I have opened this account to help the family cover costs of travel, meals, medical bills and etc. If you cannot help financially, please add the family to your thoughts and prayers.
