It is with a heavy heart that I bring you this devastating news. Derek, a son, a grandson, a brother, a nephew, an uncle and a husband has passed away due to an unexpected asthma attack.
At only 23 years of life, he had many dreams, goals, and plans left to accomplish for himself and his loved ones. Derek was someone you could depend on for an inappropriate joke, an illuminating smile, and a contagious laugh you couldn’t resist but laugh with him or are at him.
This tragedy not only took him from his family who loved him to the ends earth, but from his very loving and adoring soulmate, Jena. They had just moved in together in January, but they had developed a friendship for more than ten years.
I’m asking for your help to cover funeral expenses and anything Jena might need in order to cope with the passing of her best friend. If you can find it in your heart at all to donate, anything will help us and most of all Jena.
As I’ve expressed, this was completely unexpected and none of us could’ve imagined something like this could’ve ever happened to someone who was so selfless, compassionate, and so young.
