Derek Blom Memorial Scholarship

Derek Blom, a beloved teacher and mentor to decades of Appleton-area students, passed away unexpectedly just days before his son's first day at UW-Madison. As a teacher of science and math and a coach for the Wilson Raiders and Appleton North Lightning, Mr. Blom influenced countless lives. In memory of Mr. Blom, Derek's former students are raising money to support his son at the University of Wisconsin. His students will always remember Mr. Blom for his humor, light-heartedness, and creative motivational techniques - including the time he promised to share photos of his epic college mullet in exchange for a strong finish to the 2003 school year! He was a dedicated friend and mentor to all who walked into his classroom, and he will be dearly missed. 100% of the funds raised through this campaign will be given to Mr. Blom's son, Devin, for use as a college student, beginning in Fall 2019.  Please contact Ryan Panzer with any questions about the Memorial.
