Derek and John Bringhurst stg4 cancer&dialysis etc
When illness’s happen it happens in droves.
My name is Kelly Bringhurst, and I have created this account to help raise some much needed funds for both my mother and father, Derek and John Bringhurst.
The doctors have diagnosed my mother with Stage 4 breast cancer that has now turned into bone cancer, causing her to become bedridden, and leaving her unable to stand for more than a few minutes at a time. My dad has been having health problems that have taken a turn for the worse, including diabetes, heart and kidney problems. He has just now started on dialysis. Just to name a few.
Before my mother became ill, she worked at the Fairbanks Correctional Center where she is fondly known as the “Bible Lady." She was always known to keep her Bible close at hand trying to help those who are struggling to keep their life on a straighter path. She also donated much of her time to the woman’s shelter helping, teaching and praying to those who would accept her help. My mom's maiden name is Fairbanks! Originally from California, this is how my dad convinced her to come back here to live -- back to his home. My mom has exhausted all of her sick leave from FCC sadly leaving her with no income.
My dad is a known musician around the Fairbanks area. He is known around Fairbanks for playing drums for hire. He’s done that his whole life since the 60’s, starting his career with his brothers in the BB Express. He lived a musicians life and then became a Christian getting saved in the early 80’s. After that he helped his community and other villages in other states as well as traveled the lower 48’s both for music and sharing the gospel. They both care and give into our community more than I can remember. Due to the COVID-19 Crisis and Alaska shutting down, he has been unable to work - although his current medical conditions would not have allowed him much leeway in that regard.
Like many children, I care very deeply for my parents and love them very much. I help in every way I can, but this is becoming far beyond what my sister Felicia with her husband and myself can do. Therefore, I am reaching out to ask for help from those whose lives my parents have touched and beyond. I'm asking friends, family, community, and strangers who empathize, if they can please donate whatever they can to help my parents with the bills that cannot seem to stop piling up.
Thank you so so much and God bless
