Derby needs ACL surgery
Donation protected
Derby is a Nordic rescue who belongs to Denise Cochrane the Founder of Flights For Hope. Over the last couple of days Derby was showing signs that something was wrong. Denise quickly got him to the vet and it was confirmed he has fully torn his ACL. This is a very expensive surgery when you don’t have a rescue discount.
Through Flights for Hope, Denise has saved rescues hundreds of thousands of dollars by sponsoring these dogs flights so the dog can travel safer and faster across Canada throughout the year.
Denise never says no to a request. It’s usually “how much do you need?” and “ can you send me a picture?” Her efforts to help both rescue and dogs are acknowledged and respected from the east coast to the west coast. That goes to show just how many lives she’s saved.
We would not be able to help as many dogs as we do if it was not for Denise and FFH. If you own a Northern rescue it was probably Denise who made that possible. So in return we are hoping to give back. We want Derby to get the surgery he needs without Denise having to also stress about requests coming through to FFH.
If you’ve adopted a northern dog or are a rescue that has used FFH before we ask that you can find it in your heart to help donate even $5 towards Derby’s surgery.
No one ever wants to see their pet in pain. Plus we are rescue, we are here to help each other.
Thank you
