Hello! My name is Quinncy Apophis AKA Derangedleech, and my partner, me, and my household need some help!

At the beginning of this month, the household I reside in consisting of me, my partner, and my 3 other roommates had a very big move from an apartment into a larger house for rent! This was a necessary move for space among other more upsetting reasons. Dog attack towards roommate and upstairs neighbor. Constant neighbors fighting/noise. Fire-risks from neighbors. Many things in the apartment were broken. Lack of space for us 5 to live comfortably. A bad infestation of pest cockroaches and mice specifically. They got into everything and caused a lot of damage. Mice attacked our birds alongside eating their food constantly, causing them to lose weight. They peed everywhere on everything and damaged belongings.

Every action taken against them was practically pointless as living in a complex building meant the neighbors' infestation just kept coming into our place through the walls, vents, and under doors. It was an ongoing fight and eventually made all our mental health bad enough to affect day to day. This combined with the possibility of mold or some form of SOMETHING in the vents had everyone feeling sick and unwell constantly. Even the animals visibly were not doing well. All in all with the lease ending, we had to move!

This move was a rough one. It is an increase in expenses. Furniture and personal belongings had to be thrown out left and right. Everything left had to be hand-cleaned and treated. What wasn't able to be done in the time limit we had to move out had to be binned+sealed or triple bagged with rubbing alcohol and put into a storage unit which is an additional cost for 2 months minimum as we try to get the possible remaining roaches to die out. To make matters even worse, the first U-Haul truck that my roommate rented was ALSO infested with cockroaches! Meaning we couldn't even utilize it as easily as we wanted and having to get a new truck and deal with that entire circus.

With the pets, the mice and roaches caused irreversible damage. All but the branches, bowls, and treat-able supplies had to be thrown out leaving the budgies with all but one usable toy gone. Hundreds of dollars from my partner spoiling them, gone. On top of this, one of the budgies ended up passing away mid-move from a panicked trauma injury against the cage wall caused by mouse attack. The mice literally climbed an almost human-height flight cage to go after the birds. It was a lot. Hydrangea's cat tree, litter box and container, and most of her belongings too had to be thrown out. Right now she has a single small scratching post, some toys, a new litter box and her smaller toys. During this move, Rae also had a medical emergency which cost us out of pocket that is in-progress with being processed by insurance and from here on out she needs to be on a more strict diet which is more costly than before and monitored. Which is something we all as a household are ready to tackle without a moment's hesitation but it is. Hard when we can barely afford groceries right now due to all that has happened.

Mentioning groceries, most of our fridge was thrown away. All food not able to be unboxed and put into plastic containers after checking for pests was thrown away. We are practically starting fresh and considering the sheer amount of debt every single one of us is in right now we can barely afford it. Personally I desperately need to get my credit card, Venmo, and PayPal out of the red. My bank is also locked and demanding I go back to Massachusetts which I can't just to unlock so I have to PAY for bank statements for legal financial use, lock my account, clear the debt, then close it and use my new address to open a new bank account local that will allow me to better manage. It's been a huge stressor and weighing on me. Right as we moved as well, my motherboard on my PC got damaged by a severe lightning storm that came through and is being repaired right now meaning I am without ability to use my main PC and rely on my very old laptop. It works, but not ideal. I'm also working on my IPad as best I can!
