On November 12th, 2022, Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Luke Werner was injured while on duty. Luke responded to a shoplifting call, arrived at the location, and briefly interacted with the suspect, who stabbed Luke multiple times in the neck. Due to the extent of his injuries, Luke underwent surgery and is now recovering.

We are collecting funds to help his wife, Kelli and their three children, as Luke has a long recovery ahead of him. Kelli homeschools their children, Levi, Lilliana and Loralei. Funds will be used for daily household expenses, needs for their children, groceries and medical bills.

Luke is a former Austin Police Department officer who currently serves as a valuable member of the Bastrop County Sheriff’s Office. He is a K-9 officer and is deputized as a DEA Task Force Officer with the Austin District Office.
