Deondra's Lymphoma Journey

My name is Pam and I am creating this page for my daugter Deondra.  This is her story:

Hello, my name is Deondra Harrison Hagans, and I was recently diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma. In addition to the challenges and expenses that lay ahead with chemotherapy, doctor visits, and an unimaginable amount of medication, there are also the trials and tribulations of everyday life. For the next three months I will be away from work and unpaid while I receive chemo. Also I will be reciving chemo for at least the remainder of the year and am not sure when I'll work full-time again.  Let’s face it, cancer is expensive. I am fortunate to have the help of my husband, family, and health insurance, but none of that covers the astronomical cost of having cancer, nor does it make up for what I was able to bring to our family financially. 

The one expense that I don't want to fold on is daycare/school for my boys. While my life has been turned upside down, I want my boys to have as much peace and normalcy as possible. School is where they see their friends, learn new things, and have their minds open wide to be filled with the joys of the world. I normally pay for their school, but not working now puts their ability to continue in jeopardy. My boys are my world, and I will sacrifice everything and go without for them to go to school. 

Any funds raised would primarily cover daycare and day-to-day expenses like groceries, gas, and the miscellaneous that come with life. My husband carries a heavy load financially and, in addition to caring for me and our sons, he has even taken a second job. I cannot ask any more of him.
