KaMillion is a Jacksonville-based filmmaker & actress raising funds to complete her first feature film, DEON, a powerful story about a young girl in foster care fighting to survive, protect her family, and build a future against the odds.
Production was scheduled to begin in March, but after months of preparation, one of the major investors unexpectedly pulled out. Rather than letting the project fall apart, KaMillion chose to turn to the community and keep pushing forward.
Despite being encouraged to take the project to larger film markets, KaMillion made a deliberate choice to produce DEON in her hometown of Jacksonville. She believes in building opportunity where she comes from and is committed to helping grow the local film industry by hiring and training local talent, giving creatives in Jax real access to professional film sets and career pathways.
This film is a love letter to Jacksonville and a commitment to creating paid opportunities for local actors and crew while telling a story that reflects real struggles many families face.
Every donation big or small helps keep this project alive and brings the team closer to production. Even sharing the campaign makes a real difference.
This film won’t be made by one person alone.
It will be made by a community that believes in the power of storytelling and second chances.
