Hi, I’m Sarah – proud dog mum to my beautiful boy Denzel. If you know me, you’ll know that Denzel isn’t just a dog – he’s my absolute world, my best friend, and my constant for the past 11 and a half years.

Recently, Denzel began experiencing some concerning symptoms. After a series of scans and tests, we were given heartbreaking news: a tumour has been found near his heart. Right now, we don’t know what kind it is, whether it’s treatable, or what the best course of action might be – more specialist testing is urgently needed.

Denzel is no longer insured, as his premiums became unaffordable last year – something I now painfully regret. We’ve already spent over £5,000 in one visit for CT scans and blood work, and the next stage – testing the tumour and planning possible treatment – will cost at least another £2,000. From there, he may also need new medications, physiotherapy, laser treatment, or even chemotherapy depending on what we find.

As a full-time physiotherapy student, I’m barely earning right now, and it’s incredibly hard for me to ask for help. But I’d do absolutely anything for Denzel, and I can’t face the idea of not giving him every possible chance. I’ve always supported myself and never asked for anything – but this is for my boy, and I’m swallowing my pride for him.
