Hello, to anyone reading this. Let me introduce myself, I am Christie (if you don’t know) & my fiancé is Luis. We are Denver’s parents. Who is Denver you ask? He’s the sweetest 11 month old French bulldog boy who’s had a lot of health issues since we got him in October. Yesterday on July 25, 2021 he went in for BOAS (brachycephallic obstructive airway surgery) to correct his airway systems because daily he regurgitates & it has led to multiple bouts of pneumonia. We knew he needed to get surgery ASAP to help him have a better quality of life. He went through surgery & we were updated throughout the day that he was doing great & that hes “such a good sweet boy.” I spoke to the doctor at approximately 8:30 PM last night & then she told he was still doing fine. However, I woke up to a call this morning (July 26, 2021) at around 8 AM that his condition has actually gone downward. He somehow developed “life threatening” pneumonia in the middle of the night & his lungs are filled with fluid & that he has to be moved to critical care. A few hours later they informed us he is struggling to breathe & that his muscles around his diaphragm will give out if he continues trying to breathe on his own. They told us to come in & see him & that they will give us a quote to put him on a mechanical ventilator. This quote ended up being close to $20,000 so I had to take out a loan because I simply can’t afford it out of pocket. They also said they couldn’t start treatment without payment up front & if we work slowly, he could die during the process of payment. Quickly, I was approved for this loan but I still don’t know where I will be able to come up with the funds to pay it back. My fiancé & I both just graduated college, moved cross country in hopes to start our careers & we did not plan for such expensive complications. But we know we can’t just let our son die.

Anyone who has had the pleasure of meeting Denver knows he’s a lover, a friendly happy go-lucky guy. He loves cuddles, he loves his friends, & he loves his family. He has a huge heart for a little guy. I’m hoping to raise this money to help pay for these expenses even if it’s not the total $20,000. We hope if he makes it out, he will come home to us & live his best life with his new clear airways.. But we need your help.. If you’re still reading this, a simple share could help us SO MUCH.
