Denver. American Bald Eagle.

To our amazing visitors and supporters, we have found ourselves in the position where we need to ask for your help. Denver, one of our American Bald Eagles, is unwell. We suspect that he is suffering from some form of heart condition as both of his feet have swollen dramatically in size, leading us and our Avian Specialist vet to suspect that a heart defect is causing fluid retention in both feet and lower legs. In order to investigate further and work towards a diagnosis and hopefully treatment, Denver is going to have to be seen by specialists. In search of an answer he will need to start with blood tests, X-rays, and scans of his heart. The initial quote for this early investigative work is £2,500. As with any of us that have had to seek veterinary help, we are quite aware that this will just be the beginning of the financial cost to try to get Denver back to full health, and as it stands, we are uncertain as to the prognosis and even if full health is achievable. We hope beyond words that it is. Many of you will have admired Denver during your visits, or even handled him or flown him yourselves during one of our activity days. We are asking you for donations towards his diagnosis. Even small amounts donated can help us. This comes at a time when outgoings expenses are already high during the winter season on the farm and we need to make sure that Denver gets the assistance that he needs, while maintaining the health and care of all of our other birds and animals.
