Denton Muslim Cemetery

As-Salamu-Alaikum, in February 6, 1991, 10.9335 acres of land in Denton, TX was purchased for a Muslim cemetery with a capacity of 3,206 graves. Since then, our North Texas Muslim community has been benefiting from this land for nearly 30 years. As of April 10th this year, 1,551 of our loved ones have been buried there with an average of 153 burials over the last three years.
Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. To Allah we belong. To HIM we shall return. Based on the rate of burials over the last six years, the Denton Muslim Cemetery will be at capacity within 10 years. Based on the rate of Muslim population growth in the North Texas area, the need for additional burial land has become essential, even with the coming of Farmersville Cemetery.
Alhamdulillah, by the mercy of Allah Subhanu Ta’la, the Denton Muslim Cemetery has been able to acquire an additional 30 acre land approximately 7 miles from the Denton Muslim Cemetery’s current location.
On October 10th last year, the Albanian Muslim Community has sold this land to Denton Muslim Cemetery at the same $140K price they paid 18 years ago with the understanding that this 30 acre land will be used for Phase II of the Denton Muslim Cemetery. This will, Insha’Allah, benefit the entire North Texas Muslim Community for the next 50+ years.
It is our goal to raise $200K before the end of the month of Ramadan. This includes $140K for the new 30 acre land and $60K to spend towards its development. Insha’Allah, after Ramadan, we will begin the process of cemetery design, getting the county permit, and development to make the site operational.
The purpose of this drive is to give you, the community members, the opportunity to contribute towards the $200K goal.
Insha’Allah together, we can collect the necessary funds to pay off the land and to begin the development. This investment by community members from all over and beyond North Texas will insha’Allah serve the current and the future generations for years to come.
