We lost one of our own! It is with great sadness and regret that I must inform you of the passing of one of Proficient Auto Transports family, professional car haul driver Denton Edmond.
We received the tragic call yesterday from Georgia State Troopers that Denton was struck and killed by a distracted driver. The trooper stressed to us that Denton did everything correctly. He pulled far off the road and called for a tire repair. He was out of the truck positioning his last safety triangle when the driver of the other vehicle left the roadway and struck Denton. That driver was arrested for distracted driving, Homicide.
I just left his house where I spent time with his wife Nicolette, his family, and friends. The Proficient family is already helping by bringing food, gift cards and other aid to the family.
I am personally extremely saddened. Denton was a great member of our team but MOST IMPORTANTLY he was a great person and a great devout family man who loved and cherished his wife and children. He always had a smile on his face and was ready to tell a joke. He shared family pictures and video with me numerous times. He also loved being a car hauler, often talking about it. We all liked him very much and will greatly miss him.
Please pray for Denton's wife and family as they go through this difficult time. Denton is married with 4 children, his youngest is 5. Please also pass this information along to anyone outside the company that would want to know.
