Dental Surgery not covered in US
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Cortni! I'm 36 years old, a mother, wife, caretaker, and work full-time.
Unfortunately, I inherited a genetic condition that erodes the bone in my mouth, which has affected my Grandma and all her female siblings, as well as my mother, and my sister. My grandma lost her teeth at 20, and her siblings in their 20's as well. I've been able to stave off losing my teeth and bone as long as I can, but it's come to a point where I need to have major dental surgery if I'd like to be able to eat more than a liquid diet for the rest of my life.
I have dental insurance, and also signed up for additional dental plans outside of my employer to help cover costs, but in the US, only so much dental is covered, and I have to pay $11,000 out of pocket. I have to come up with an initial payment of $5,500 by April 23rd, 2024, or I have to push off my surgery, which makes it less likely to be successful. In addition, the secondary surgery cannot be completed until I pay the remaining $5,500, which would be due by September 2024.
I've tried many options, but at this point I am stuck, and am humbly asking for help, please.
I know we are all struggling, so any help at all would be beyond appreciated.
Thank you so much for your time!
