My friend Dayna Clark went to a book launch party for a friend. She was so excited about going because she rarely goes out. In the middle of the reading, she suddenly got hot and nauseous and told a friend she needed to sit down. Before she could make it to a chair, she passed out cold. When she woke up there was blood everywhere.
She had fallen on her face and completely knocked her two front teeth out of her mouth. She also partially fractured her face and potentially needs wiring in her jaw. I chose this picture above because it is the last picture taken with her beautiful smile.
Dayna is a writer who drives for Lyft to cover her bills and does have insurance, but unfortunately the dental implant surgery she now needs is considered "cosmetic". Can you imagine? My heart is hurting for my friend right now. She is in the middle of a divorce and fighting for custody of her children. Her finances as a result have been wiped out at this time. She is one of the hardest working, most loving people I know. She will give you the shirt off her back if she can, and now needs a bit of help herself following this accident.
While "bargain shopping" for the dental implant surgery, we found a dentist who will perform the procedure for roughly $5,000. Additionally during this period, there are real life expenses that also must be covered, totaling $7000.
This is what happened and why we are raising money for Dayna. If you can help, we would greatly appreciate it and the money will go to help a great person.
