As most of you know I worked as a Home Health Aid and Personal Assistant under the CDPAP ( consumer directed personal assistant program) for 25 years. Kathy Hochul just ruined my career by putting the CDPAP program under PUBLIC PARTNERSHIPS LLC.. I had worked over 300 hours with this PPL and was only paid properly for 50 hours of work. I lost my car because I was not able to pay my car insurance because I work for a poverty wage and PPL lowered my hourly wage the choice came to pay rent or pay car insurance and I paid my rent.

I need root canals done, which I can’t afford to have done because my insurance does not cover them. The insurance plan offered with PPL is absolutely ridiculous. And now, my former physical intermediary is contesting my Unemployment so I may lose the only income I have along with my apartment. I have been selling things on Facebook marketplace, trying to make money.

I have been offered jobs I cannot take because I do not have transportation. I have a plied for SNAP benefits I don’t know if I will receive them or not I have been eating from the food bank thank the Gods for that or I would not be eating at all because I cannot afford groceries I had to have a charity pay the bare minimum of my electric bill just to keep the lights on and the Ac in this oppressive heat.

I have gotten a lot of judgment for asking for help from go fund me and I’m not ashamed to ask for help. I have devoted 25 years of my life to helping people with disabilities live independently in their own homes and communities.

Losing my career and my car have been a complete and total nightmare. I only bring home $441 a week from Unemployment which I am in jeopardy of losing now. I have asked for help with housing and rent and been turned down by 400 different agencies because I am a single woman with no children and there are waiting lists. I have listed a bunch of designer Guatemalan handbags for sale on Facebook marketplace and my personal Facebook I will ship them name your price and what you can pay all offers are excepted as I am trying to dig myself out of this hole.

I need to come up with $700 by Friday to pay my rent or I am going to be evicted as my lease is month-to-month if I pay I stay if I don’t pay I don’t stay. I know there is an eviction process so that will buy me some time. This entire transition of the CDPAP program has taken a toll on my mental physical and emotional health and I had to do inpatient mental health treatment this summer to be able to cope with this most difficult change to a program I’ve dedicated my career to.

I feel completely helpless and alone anything and everything helps.
