My name is Emily and I am a Dental student in UCC

I am preparing to volunteer with a dental outreach program in Zanzibar, where I’ll be helping to provide essential oral health care and education to communities that have limited access to dental services. Many people around the world live with preventable dental pain, infection, and tooth loss simply because they do not have access to professional care. These issues don’t just affect smiles—they affect overall health, nutrition, confidence, and daily quality of life.

During this trip, our team will be offering services such as cleanings, fluoride treatments, extractions, and oral hygiene education. We’ll also be focusing on long-term impact by teaching children and families how to care for their teeth, helping to reduce future dental problems before they start.
