Dental Aid Nepal

I am involved in organising a voluntary trip to a rural community in Nepal this coming Summer of 2022. I will be travelling with a group of dental students from Ireland and providing dental aid. We will be treating impoverished Nepalese individuals who have very little/no access to dental care at no cost. We will be providing immediate dental care and preventative treatments and education.  Treatments include restorations (fillings), extractions (surgical and non-surgical), pharmacy prescription provision and oral hygiene instructions.

 

To provide this free of charge to the communities that cannot afford it, we will be setting up and renting an ad hoc temporary clinic and surgery. We will be bringing restoration materials and supplies from Ireland as well as toothbrushes and paste.

 

Pre covid-19, these communities had regular medical and dental volunteers visiting each year. Unfortunately, since the pandemic, no outreach program has been able to travel to many of the villages. Funds raised will go towards training of community volunteers, medicines, dental supplies and any dental costs incurred in providing treatment. Any donations are greatly appreciated, and every cent will be used to provide aid.
