Dennys Surgery and Recovery
Donation protected
I’m fundraising for my dog Denny — my oldest boy and the heart of our wee pack. He’s a 6-year-old dachshund and lives with me and his two girls, Dolly and Daisy (he’s actually Daisy’s dad!). If you know me, you know how much my dogs mean to me — they’re my family.
Denny is a total character. He’s cheeky, obsessed with feet, and has a talent for destroying any toy in under 30 seconds. He absolutely adores me (the feeling is mutual), and he’s been with me since he was a puppy.
Last weekend, things took a scary turn. Denny suddenly lost the use of his back legs. He was rushed to the vet and referred straight to Earlswood. When the specialist saw him on Tuesday, she said he needed emergency surgery for IVDD — a serious spinal condition that dachshunds are prone to.
The first surgery didn’t go to plan, and he had to have a second one the very next day. The surgeon has done what they can to relieve the pressure on his spine, but Denny now faces a long road to recovery, including physio and hydrotherapy. He’s still in Earlswood, and they’ll be keeping him in until he’s stable enough to come home.
The cost so far is £6,000 — and unfortunately, my pet insurance has declined the claim because of admin errors. I’m fighting it, but for now, I need to pay the full amount upfront before Denny can be discharged.
I really hate asking for help, but I’m doing everything I can to give Denny the best chance. Anything you can donate will go towards his surgeries, vet care, and the months of treatment ahead. Even if you can’t donate, a share would mean the world.
Thank you so much for reading and supporting us
