Denny Turner

Hi, for those who don't know me, I'm Arlene Keller Captain of HOT-N-READY and Just a Poke in the Barrie Slopitch league.

I've had the absolute pleasure playing alongside some great people building great friendships along the way!

This, however is NOT about me, one of the friendships I hold dear is with an amazing woman so many know and love, DENNY TURNER!!

Denny would never ask for it but she gave me her blessing in setting this up.

Dennys smile lights up a room, her laugh is absolutely contagious, she lives large and loves even larger!! Anyone who knows this wild and wonderful woman knows that her family is her greatest love!! Denny genuinely gives every bit of her heart to her children on good and bad days!! Up until last week her son Mason was living happily with his amazing mother. Things change. :(

Last week Denny went to RVH for day surgery, with every thought of being home that day, as I said, things change and sadly what was supposed to be a simple medical procedure has turned in to an absolute nightmare. I've been in touch with Denny multiple times over the week, every day she was feeling worse, she begged for prayers. This strong independent woman who would give you the shirt off her back and set a place at her table at the drop of a hat has found herself in a fight for her life quite literally!! Late last night, Saturday October 22nd Denny informed me she was being airlifted to a Toronto Hospital to be cared for by a group of specialists. She said she'd be in touch today..

I was beyond shocked when I called tonight to get an update and I learned that I would be transferred to the Intensive Care Unit... Denny answered in a weak and distraught voice, she's terrified to say the least, her condition as she was barely able to speak is grave. "I need help....I'm so scared, please pray for me" she whispered.

I know her plea was for help in healing, however anyone who knows Denny knows that she and Mason (her only son and youngest child) are inseparable. Denny works 2 jobs to give him the best life possible.

It's hard to imagine Denny so ill however this is her reality. In the immediate future bills are going to be adding up quickly!! I'm hoping that even during this difficult time we're all experiencing that we can find it in our hearts to relieve some of this burden. Long term, Denny will have an extensive recovery time with home care necessary.

I'm begging now, please pray for her recovery and if you can donate I know she'll be forever grateful. Every toonie makes a difference.

Please share this, I know there are many other people near and far that know she's ill as well may hopefully help as well. Flowers are beautiful but expensive and die, please donate whatever you can.
