Denny passed away on March 8, 2022. He had deep roots in Belmont. Among many volunteer activities, he served for 12 years on the Belmont Planning Commission, was president of the Sterling Downs Neighborhood Association, was active with the Nesbit School PTA and was a founding member of the Belmont Historical Society in 1987. He served as the president of the Historical Society for many years and continued to be active until his passing.

The Belmont Historical Society is raising funds to install a park bench in Denny's honor near the entrance to the Belmont History Room in Twin Pines Park.

Any funds raised in excess of the goal will be donated to the Belmont Historical Society in Denny's name.
