Dennis' Story: SMASH CANCER

August 23, 2017
Dennis was rushed by ambulance from work to Queen's Medical Center for severe abdominal pain. He was diagnosed and treated for chronic pancreatitis. Six (6) months later his gastroenterologist specialist ordered a MRI to follow up on the pseudocyst located on his pancreas, as a result of having pancreatitis. The MRI report findings showed that the pseudocyst had resolved, however; the tissue in one area of his pancreas was dead. The gastroenterologist explained and advised that an endoscope ultrasound should be performed to determine if there is a mass or tumor causing a blockage. This is a procedure where they take a scope into your mouth and down into your stomach to take a closer look of what is going on. The found a tumor and took a biopsy.
On April 13, 2018 Dennis was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer.
This past Tuesday, June 5, 2018 Dennis underwent a distal pancreatectomy and splenectomy surgery. More than half of his pancreas and his spleen were removed, along with the malignant pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor. Dennis is currently in the hospital still recovering from his surgery.
Prior to his surgery Dennis had another endoscopic ultrasound performed and another biopsy was taken. His doctor called a few days before his surgery to tell us that Dennis is also pre-stage with esophageal cancer.
We would like to thank everyone for your prayers from the bottom of our hearts. We appreciate your support and caring messages more than you can imagine. God has blessed us with an abundance of love and we are living one day at a time.
Any donations will go to help financially support with living expenses and unforeseen medical expenses as Dennis smash & conquers his fight with cancer.
Much Love and Aloha to you ALL!
