We are raising funds for the future needs, care and equipment of our adult son Dennis Vanstone who was severely injured in the caravan explosion at Cudlee Creek on 8 th May. He suffered 80% burns when the gas bottle exploded and altered his life.
Many thanks to the blokes and staff at the park and the fire chief who were instrumental in saving his life. After a week in ICU ,induced coma and intubated he has come a long way but suffered severe burns to his hands, legs, face and body. Dennis has endured skin grafts, debriding and intensive physio which will be ongoing as he learns to adapt to a different way of life.
We are seeking funds to provide equipment and care as he learns to use his hands and move about. His rehabilitation will take time and Dennis will eventually come home to live. He is now homeless, unable to work and will need ongoing assistance due to the severity of his burns.
Once the initial horror of such an accident settles, the struggle begins, to accept a different way of life as the pain, physio and frustration of losing your abilities kicks in.
We see constant improvement as skin grafts heal, bandaging is removed, the Staph is treated and Dennis is able to start moving but it will be a long road.
Please support Dennis by donating to this page as we look at new ways to help his rehabilitation.
