Dennis Tubbs Memorial Fund

Dennis was a wonderful friend to all fortunate to know him. Endearing and soft hearted in nature, Dennis was a social butterfly who loved deep conversations, goofy dad humor, the outdoors, and traveling. You could often find him enjoying documentaries on a range of topics, creating fishing lures or delving into his woodworking craft, feeding the birds and wildlife that routinely visited the backyard, building trains with his grandchildren, or in his rocking chair next to the love of his life who he fondly referred to as, “My Judy.”

Dennis battled Pancreatic Cancer for nearly two years and left the world at approximately 2am on Friday, May 26th surrounded by loved ones at Shadyside Hospital, UPMC.

Due to battling previous bouts of Cancer, Dennis was not eligible for Life Insurance.

Additionally, Dennis retired when he was first diagnosed with Liver Cancer in 2017 that then developed into Pancreatic Cancer. The prolonged period in which Dennis required more profound medical support resulted in financial hardships for him and his loving wife and full time Caregiver, Judy Tubbs.

Dennis’ devoted wife, Judy, is now attempting to manage their financial affairs, cover medical and utility bills, their mortgage, and is also managing and planning a Memorial Celebration of Life Event in collaboration with Dennis’s closest family and friends.

Due to the nature and severity of Dennis’s illnesses and disabilities, he required around the clock care for an extensive amount of time. Dennis’s loving and devoted wife Judy became his Full Time Primary Caregiver which inhibited her abilities to navigate and participate in outside employment.
