On the evening of September 21, 2018, I was involved in an automobile accident that very nearly took my life. Fortunately, I survived and have now embarked on the long road to recovery.
Throughout this surreal and scary experience the outpouring of love and support from my family, friends, and co-workers has been incredibly moving and overwhelming. I can honestly say that all of that support has positively affected my family’s physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being, in addition to my own.
Unfortunately, due to the long recovery time, extensive medical bills and lost wages are beginning to put a heavy financial burden on my family. Those of you that know me well know that I am typically the last person to raise their hand and ask for help.
But I’m asking for a little bit of help now and while it hurts my pride and bruises my ego to do so, I’ve finally realized that there is no shame in asking your loved ones for help when you need it.
