In Loving Memory of Dennis Clark Steele
It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Dennis Clark Steele, who left us on November 28th, 2024, at 10:18 PM. Dennis had been battling kidney failure for the last three years, which required regular dialysis, and suffered other medical complications as a result. He was admitted to Carle Hospital on November 26th, 2024, due to complications from dialysis and heart failure. Dennis was placed on a ventilator and made comfortable in his final days, surrounded by his loving family.
Dennis was an avid baseball fan, a devoted New York Yankees supporter, and a passionate coach and umpire for youth sports through the Effingham Park District for many years. He retired from Martin’s IGA after many years of hard work, but his love for socializing and playing golf remained a core part of his life. Dennis was married to his loving wife, Debra Steele (Ashbaugh), for over 50 years. Together, they raised four children and were blessed with multiple grandchildren. He also leaves behind siblings, nieces, and nephews, all of whom will cherish his memory.
During this difficult time, we are reaching out to our community for support. The family is asking for donations to help cover the medical and funeral expenses associated with Dennis’s passing. Any contribution, no matter the size, would be deeply appreciated and would provide some comfort during this challenging time.
