Anyone who knows Darren “Big D” Besida knows that in addition to being the heart of the Devils Youth Hockey organization, he was a devoted son who has been caring for his father for many years.
Sadly, Darren’s father, Dennis, passed away in the early hours of Sunday, May 22, 2022. Dennis, otherwise known as “The Deacon”, was an active member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Bloomfield and an avid sports fan. Darren came to Devils Youth over 25 years ago when his dad, who delivered medical equipment to then-DY President Ed Lynch, asked if the organization had a summer job opening for his son.
Many members of our youth hockey have already reached out to see how they can help. We decided to create this GoFundMe so people would have an easy way to offer their support to Darren during this sad and difficult time.
