Denise's Brain Tumor Recovery
Donation protected
Hi, this is Melanie Axiotis Lohmiller, sister of Denise Axiotis Berg. As you may know, Denise was diagnosed with a brain tumor on Dec 26, 2024 and had brain surgery Dec 30th. I'm starting this new Go Fund Me page as we are now 5 months into her treatment and recovery and have a clearer idea of what were looking at financially and physically with her health. So many of you have already reached out and donated and we are all so very grateful for your thoughtfulness. Since then, she had been recovering and learning to live with her diagnosis and the changes it has brought to her life. One of the main struggles is her vision loss. She still has vision but because it is so diminished, she is currently unable to drive, and does not know if that's a possibility for the future. Of course this affects her ability to have a job in the future.
Currently, Denise is finishing up her 6 weeks of radiation treatments. She also is taking her chemotherapy pill at home and has been doing that treatment for over a month and has 5 more months to go.
She has thankfully had her son Jesse, and Sam, who have been living with her since December. They have been able to help with all tasks of living, appointments, scheduling, taking her to treatments, and helping with all the insurance and medical bills.
I am hoping to use this platform to keep you updated on Denise's progress. I can't thank you enough for all your care, prayers, meals, and offers of help. I live in another town but have seen Denise's friends rally around her with their love, and it is so touching and humbling.
In the next week, on May 9th Sam is flying back to Montana to pack up his belongings and move his trailer back to Prescott. As he finalizes everything he might be gone for a couple of weeks. Since that leaves Jesse, who is also working a job, we would really appreciate extra help during this time. Meals, cleaning, but most importantly people who can take the time just to be with Denise. A lot of the battle is keeping her spirits up, and we can really use your extra time and love right now. Thank you so much. Please feel free to reach out to me on messenger also. Much love, Melanie
