Dear Friends,

Many of you know that our sweet Gypsy (Denise Phillips) is suffering from a debilitating disease called Progressive Multifocal Leukoencephalopathy (PML).

Denise has spent the last several months in and out of the hospital. For more than one month she was on end-of-life care, and it was thought she would not survive.

Fortunately, she is making progress and is expected to survive! This in itself is a miracle.

She and her family are adjusting to a new normal. Denise continues to reside in a care home during the week, returning home to Mark, Blake, and Bailie on the weekends. Her recovery efforts continue, as she needs physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Denise is a fighter, and is working incredibly hard to heal. Her quick wit continues to shine through, inspiring all of us, and making us laugh.

Her friends are reaching out to the larger group for help with ongoing expenses. Denise has not worked since November, and she is unlikely to return. Her medical expenses are substantial, and modifications to her home were necessary for wheelchair access.

Mark and Denise would never ask for help themselves, but as their friends, we'd like to offer the family financial support to offset some of these expenses, and we hope you can help.
