Denise Needs Your Help: Financial Hardship & Keep My Home

This is EXTREMELY hard for me to do
I’m Denise and I’m reaching out to ask for your help during a truly challenging time. I am a kind, generous person who has always been willing to lend a hand to anyone in need, foster dogs, and assist a rescue with saving dogs on the euth list. But, now my family and I really need support.
Life has thrown some unexpected curveballs my way over the past year. My Mom was discharged from the hospital after a week stay diagnosed with invasive colon adenocarcinoma of her ascending colon with small bowel obstruction while down from PA for the holidays 2023. Not long after this stay she was hospitalized again and scheduled for an emergency surgery to remove part of the colon and cancer. Had several subsequent admissions after that, a heart attack, accute renal failure and GI Bleed. I moved my mom in to my house to help care for her, my ex significant other took my dog, I had to take him to court to get my dog back, the ex was constantly doing things to our house, making threats, taking personal items and property of mine, and so much more.
I then had a restraining order issued against him. He stopped paying any of the mortgage, HOA, insurance. I solely began paying for the house last March, started DoorDashing on top of working full-time, then in September 2024 I was laid off due to circumstances beyond my control.
In December 2024 I received notice the ex passed away, he was 57 (cardiomyopathy dilated type-excessive alcohol use). The house is Deeded as Right of Survivorship, and now I have to assume the mortgage, sell it, or risk going into possibly foreclosure. I have to come up with a little over $6,000 to assume the mortgage by 3/02 and all donations will go towards the assumption of mortgage.
Despite being incredibly experienced, the job market in my field is extremely tight right now. I have applied to hundreds of jobs, had interviews, my unemployment has been exhausted, and my forbearance on my mortgage has ended. There is a pending civil action against the ex for my belongings and property, breach of contract, unjust enrichment, as well as the emotional distress, pain and suffering he has caused me and my family.
Due to the court proceedings, being solely responsible for a mortgage that the ex abandoned, being laid off, and unemployment exhausted, I have exhausted my savings this past year. Not to mention I now have to incur more expenses to fight the PR (daughter) of his estate for my belongings, have the PR substituted in the civil proceedings, and possibly contest the forged Will she filed in Probate. (And yes, I have the proof).
I know it’s temporary, and I will find stable employment, it is just very disappointing and stressful.
Thank you for your thoughtful and open hearted consideration. Every donation, no matter the size, will help alleviate the overwhelming financial burden during this difficult time.
