Denise Fisher's chemo & medical treatment

Hello all!

My name is Danielle DeMoss and I am creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my mother, Denise Fisher. Back in October of 2023 my mother wasn’t feeling well and made an appointment for herself. After already having a left lung lobectomy and wedge resection in 2016, her provider sent her immediately to have a PET scan done. The provider stated that they wanted her to have this done STAT. The results were sent to her pulmonologist who called her and stated she needed to go to the hospital within the next week to have a robotic biopsy completed. That is when our guts knew something wasn’t right. The surgeon who performed the biopsy was able to receive a preliminary report showing she had advanced stages of small cell lung cancer. He also stated she will need to get set up with an oncologist as soon as possible as this was the most aggressive form of lung cancer she could have. She went through 6 weeks of daily radiation and advanced chemotherapy every 2 weeks. After the third round of chemotherapy, she became very ill again. Now, let me also add that this is a woman who does NOT ever sit still or in bed. This illness put her in bed for two weeks. I knew something was right and I highly encouraged her to go to the doctor again. The doctor informed her she needed to go to the hospital, yet again. She had to be in the hospital for another week and needed intravenous antibiotics to treat infections around the nodules already occluding 95% of her right bronchi. Due to the severity and extreme sickness this disease and medication has caused my mother, she is now unable to provide for herself. As I mentioned before she is not one to be “down for the count” nor someone to EVER ask for help, hence why I am writing this for her. She won’t be happy to know I am asking others to help her but, in this time of desperate need, I hope that you can find it in your heart to if not donate, at least say a prayer for her that she can recover from this disease and spend out the rest of her life being the happy, go-get-em, amazing “honey” (her grandkids nick name for her), and mother we all know and love. Please know that any donations will go towards already accumulated medical debt and/or future medical treatments.
