Save the Atascadero Printery

Tax deductible

You can make a difference by donating to the Atascadero Printery Foundation today. We have come to the point where the old karate studio must be demolished. The karate studio was an addition from the 1970's. Walls are buckling and cracked. If left in place, this addition could cause further damage to the building's structure. Funds are needed to complete this task so we can move on with our exciting plans for this site. We are ready to go with your help.

What is the Atascadero Printery?

The Printery was the first civic building built in Atascadero in 1915. It has a rich history and significance to our town including being the largest printing operation west of the Mississippi and where Baseball Hall of Famer, Jackie Robinson, worked as Athletic Director of Cal Poly's Camp Atascadero in 1941. In 2003, an earthquake damaged the building and it has been closed ever since waiting for seismic repairs. The Atascadero Printery Foundation is a grassroots volunteer-run nonprofit organization that purchased the property in May 2017.

Help us restore this historic building and make it a gem to Atascadero once again as a modern community facility, including a venue for performing arts, recreational programs for all ages, an innovative printing museum, and meeting spaces for community use. Please visit our website to see all of our plans and community partners and how to get involved. atascaderoprintery.org
