Demetrio's Medical Expenses

On October 27, 2016, my precious husband Demetrio was severely injured in an auto accident. He was stopped at a red light in our sedan. The F-150 approaching behind him did not stop. The impact left him with neck fractures and a spinal cord injury. He was rushed to a Trauma 1 center, where he required 5-hour emergency surgery to fuse his cervical spine. Since the impact, Demetrio has been unable to move his legs. He also has diminished mobility in his arms.
Demetrio is remaining strong and courageous in spirit, and is determined to face this life-altering challenge. He is amazing and inspiring others with his can-do, will-do attitude. Demetrio is fully aware that his long journey to recovery is just beginning, and is determined to see it through to the fullest restoration possible.
At the suggestion of friends and family who wish to contribute to his recovery, we have set up this GoFundMe page. These funds will go towards medical costs, which are expected to be high, and span quite a length of time.
Demetrio is a truly amazing man. He is a loving husband, cherished son, and a great friend to many. He’s the Dad of 3 fabulous grown children and a Grandpa to 3 terrific grandkids. In short, he is important, valued, needed, and loved by a great many people. Thus, it is important to his family that he have the maximum opportunity possible to heal, recover, and enjoy life.
