Dementia UK Fundraiser in Memory of Carole Peters

Sadly this week, my amazing Nana passed away after a difficult struggle with Alzheimer’s. This GoFundMe is dedicated to Carole, to raise money for research and care, to ensure those diagnosed, their families and their carers can all receive the help and support they need. 

I have made this GoFundMe page on behalf of all my family, but particularly my grandpa, Ron Peters, who had some personal words he wanted to say: 

“For a loved one to be inflicted with dementia, it can be a very difficult and heart-breaking task to care for that person. The illness can very slowly grow over many years and it is only with deep thought and hindsight you can think as to when the onset of dementia began, and in my late dear wife’s case, Carole’s condition commenced around four years ago, and the ensuing years until her death recently were sad for her and also dreadfully painful for her carer. We have all felt the full impact of this cruel and unforgiving illness. A cure can and will be found - so please donate to Dementia UK.” 

We will all miss Carole, a nana, a mum, a sister, a friend - but most of all an amazing lady with a feisty and loving spirit. This illness truly is devastating, and we all would love to raise money to help others who have been dealt this card in life.

We also want to say that we are so grateful to everyone who has helped Carole along the way, particularly the nurses and carers who looked after her so amazingly. Thank you.
