Hello, I'm Rebecca and I am fundraising on behave of my three sisters for our father's recent diagnosis of dementia. Dad now needs urgent surgery due to the lack of care and ignorance of his health team. They have ignorned all his symptoms and left him in pain! We are struggling to find resources and waitlists are over a year long for care. He needs dementia clothing which can be pricey, he has started shreading his clothes or attempting to remove them in unnecessary situations. We are taking turns taking care of him, but with life and jobs we cannot always be there for him while we wait for permanent care. Home care Respite may be needed soon which can be $300-500 a day but the list is long and home care services for days we cannot be with him is at least $25 an hour. All of the money will be going towards things that will benefit our father. If you could give anything so we can support him with some dignity during this difficult portion of his life, we would all be so grateful. It has progressed so fast and he is only currently 66 years old.
