Delta Tau chapter would appreciate your help with just $25 to help rebuild it and reestablish itself as a lead fraternity on campus.

As you hopefully know from the emails the chapter and the national fraternity have sent out, the chapter was suspended for a year because of a hazing incident. Specifically, a student who pledged our fraternity - and then dropped out - reported to the University that pledges were required to clean Brothers' off campus apartments.  Hazing is a hot issue nationally, even more so at BGSU because of the death of another fraternity's pledge who was shamed into drinking too much alcohol at a sanctioned fraternity event.

It's important to note that the national fraternity did not suspend or revoke our chapter's charter.  Instead, it's working with us through the Alumni Supervisory Committee (ASC), whose members are listed below.

Today, the chapter is comprised of 35 men, five of which pledged after the chapter was suspended.  Although we cannot participate in the University's spring rush program, the active chapter has nevertheless been recruiting, and reports it expects six to nine students to pledge Delts in the spring.

In assuming its responsibilities, the alumni committee determined that one of the most troubling problems of the chapter is its finances. Corrective action has been taken to reduce approximately $7,000 in debt, but national dues, insurance premiums and other chapter expenses are making it difficult to catch up.

We are asking you to provide just $25 to support the chapter. And, since we also know that not every Brother will respond, so -- if you can -- please give more.  Most members of the ASC are contributing $100 or more, and we respectfully ask that you add your support!

In large measure, the future of the chapter rests with alumni.  The goal is to return to campus in a strong position to attract and retain more students as future Delts. ASC members have assumed a lot of responsibility to make this happen.  But it's clear to us, that without financial assistance from our alumni base, it becomes inexplicably more difficult. Please help!
